Skiathos is one of the most beautiful islands in the Aegean Sea. It is about 47 square kilometers and has about 6,000 inhabitants. The beaches of Skiathos are among the most beautiful in Greece.
A special highlight is the airport of the island, which is approached internationally. The runway is very short with 1.628 m and allows “planespotters” to be really “blown” by the jet engines. Because of the very low approach the island is also called the European “St. Maarten”.
There are sights like monasteries or the ruins of the former capital Kástro.
